Urban space is limited - both building plots and infrastructure are saturating cities, resulting in increasingly congested traffic. This is why we advocate for introducing a new layer dedicated to cyclists. One of our OSA-LAB Teams analyzed the driving and safety conditions for cyclists in Munich and developed a mobility concept inspired by cities like Barcelona, Utrecht and Copenhagen. It combines the general planning of regional cycle paths and the zoning of traffic of superblocks. The idea is to shape a city in which cycling is not only the more sustainable, but also the more efficient mobility method.
